If you’re using something other than iTunes to manually subscribe to podcasts, you must
replace feed: with http: in the URL before moving on to the next step. Thus, if you’re
using a program such as Juice for podcatching, the URL you would enter into the

With iTunes open, select Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast from the menu bar. When the
subscription window opens, paste the CareerChat feed URL into the window and click
OK.

And that’s all there is to it. iTunes will subscribe to the feed and begin downloading
episodes, just as if you had subscribed by clicking on the iTunes chicklet.
Sharing Podcast Subscriptions
Suppose you’ve subscribed to several podcasts that you’d like to share with your
students, colleagues or friends. First, make sure you’ve selected “Podcasts” as the
source in iTunes. Next, select from the menu bar

File > Export Song List

Under “Format,” select “OPML”

Click “Save”
iTunes will create an Outline Processor Markup Language (OPML) file and save it into
the directory you indicated. Now you can email this file to anyone with whom you wish to
share your podcast subscriptions. In order to subscribe to your feeds, the receiver of your
file should select from the iTunes menu bar File > Import and direct iTunes to the OPML
file. Once imported, iTunes will automatically subscribe to all the podcasts listed in the file
and begin downloading episodes.
