in this guide is limited to run only on Macintosh systems, however, I will note PC
compatible alternatives when possible.

I will strive to update the information in this guide on a regular basis, as new techniques,
products and technologies become available. I should also mention that today, I am a
digital designer at the University of Cincinnati. My good friends Leslie Marmor and Craig
Patrick are now steering the CareerChat podcast and we continue to share information
and strategies for advancing and improving the project.
Finally, I don’t profess to be a podcast “expert,” “guru” or “master.” I’m just a guy passing
along information I think some people might find useful—information I wish I had
combined in a single resource when we first started our podcast project. Of course,
there’s more than one way to skin a cat—this guide simply details what works for us.
Acknowledgements
I must acknowledge and thank Rick Hearin and Bill Froude, director and assistant
director, respectively, of Miami University’s Office of Career Services. Their
encouragement and support of the CareerChat podcast project ultimately led to our
production winning the 2006 National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)
Excellence Award in the category of Information Resources for Students.
My gratitude also goes out to my good friend Craig Patrick, successor to my position at
Miami University’s Office of Career Services. Craig is also the talented illustrator behind
the PoducateMe owl, as well as all scenes depicting the character.
Finally, I must thank my good friend and former coworker Leslie Marmor. With her diligent
research of episode topics and solicitation of alumni participation, Leslie is an
instrumental and often unsung component of the podcast.
